Geotube ®

AWT has partnered with EnviroWaste Technology, Inc. to service customers by effectively containing and managing swine, dairy, and feedlot nutrients.

EnviroWaste utilizes the Geotube® brand dewatering technology to contain nutrients and remove water from liquid manure. The NRCS recognizes geotextiles as a BMP and supports usage with Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) funding.

By providing effective high volume containment, Geotube® brand dewatering technology and solutions are a cost effective, environmentally safe, and efficient alternative to traditional methods. Geotube® dewatering technology adds to the expediency of a project because it can take place on site and without interrupting other processes.

Process

  • During containment of fine grain sludge, hazardous contaminated soils, or dredged waste material, Geotube® dewatering technology allows excess water to drain through small pores in the geotextile tube. The result is effective dewatering and efficient volume reduction of the contained material.
  • The run-off water from the dewatering process can be reused or returned to the waste storage facility. This process of containment and dewatering can happen repeatedly.
  • After the final containment and dewatering cycle, the retained fine grained materials continue to consolidate by desiccation, which allows residual water vapor to escape through the small pores of the geotextile. The captured solids in the Geotube® container can then be disposed of properly.
